Old tapes, cine films, photographs and audio recordings can hold years of family memories, but older formats are becoming harder to play and more vulnerable to age and damage.
Our VHS digitisation and home media transfer service converts VHS, VHS-C, MiniDV, Video8, Hi8 and other home video formats into modern digital files. We can also digitise 8mm and Super 8 cine film, audio cassettes, vinyl records, photographs, slides and negatives.
You can bring your originals directly to our studio in Glastonbury, Somerset, or send them to us from anywhere in the UK.
Every transfer is carried out by our own team using professional playback and capture equipment, with cleaning and restoration available where needed.
MORE THAN A STRAIGHT VHS TRANSFER
We don’t simply copy your tape and hand back the resulting file. Each recording is brought into our edit suite, where we tidy the beginning and end, remove obvious unwanted black or noise between recordings, check the audio levels and make sure the sound is correctly present on both channels.
Our team has many years of professional video and broadcast experience, and we apply the same care and technical standards to family recordings as we do to our professional archive work.
We also give files sensible names based on the information on the tape wherever possible, rather than returning a folder full of anonymous file numbers.
The result is a cleaner, more watchable and better organised digital copy of your original recording.
If a tape needs cleaning, repair or more extensive restoration, we’ll discuss this with you before carrying out any additional work.

BRING OR SEND US YOUR TAPES
Bring them into our Glastonbury studio or send them to us from anywhere in the UK.
If you're not sure what type of tapes you have, that's fine — we can identify them for you.
WE CHECK AND TRANSFER THEM
Each tape is checked before transfer and then digitised using professional playback and capture equipment.
If we find mould, damage or anything that needs additional cleaning or repair, we'll discuss it with you first.
RECEIVE YOUR DIGITAL FILES
Your recordings are supplied as easy-to-watch digital files, with sensible names based on the tape labels wherever possible.
We can supply them by download, USB, hard drive or DVD, and return your original tapes to you.
OTHER HOME MEDIA WE DIGITISE
CINE FILM
We transfer 8mm and Super 8 cine film to digital files, with restoration available where needed to improve the finished result.
AUDIO RECORDINGS
We can digitise audio cassettes, reel-to-reel tapes and vinyl records, creating modern digital audio files while preserving the original recording.
PHOTOGRAPHS, SLIDES & NEGATIVES
We digitise printed photographs, slides and negatives at high resolution, making them easier to organise, back up, share and reproduce.

We can also help recover photos and videos from older memory cards, hard drives and mobile phones, where the material is still accessible.
